The Government of the People’s Republic of China (” China “) and the Government of the United States of America (” United States “)
Recalling the Joint Statement of the China-Us Economic and Trade Talks in Geneva reached on May 12, 2025 (the “Geneva Joint Statement”); And
Taking into account the talks between the two sides in London on June 9-10, 2025 and in Stockholm on July 28-29, 2025;
Both sides recalled the commitments made under the Geneva Joint Statement and agreed to take the following measures by August 12, 2025:
The United States will continue to revise the implementation of the AD valorem tariffs imposed on Chinese goods (including those from the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions) as stipulated in Executive Order 14257 dated April 2, 2025. Starting from August 12, 2025, the 24% tariff will be suspended for another 90 days. At the same time, the remaining 10% of tariffs imposed on these goods in accordance with the regulations of this executive order will be retained.
Ii. China will continue to (1) amend the implementation of the AD valorem tariffs imposed on US goods as stipulated in the Tariff Commission’s Announcement No. 4 of 2025. Starting from August 12, 2025, the 24% tariff will be suspended for another 90 days, while the remaining 10% tariffs imposed on these goods will be retained. And (2) In accordance with the agreement of the Geneva Joint Statement, take or maintain the necessary measures to suspend or cancel non-tariff countermeasures against the United States.
This joint statement is based on the discussions during the China-Us economic and trade talks in Stockholm. This meeting was held under the framework of the mechanism established by the Geneva Joint Statement. The Chinese representative is Vice Premier He Lifeng of The State Council, and the US representatives are Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant and US Trade Representative Jamison Greer.
